Pointless really, just wondering who all on here plays Sryth. Any tips? comments?

Post 2 by midnight sun (you can't catch me, i'm the palobread man) on Saturday, 17-Feb-2007 10:21:47

I play sryth and love it. just one thing. you know that guy who gives you the horntail and says you have to go to trithik and give it to that guy named shill? how the hell do you go to trithik from havklor? well how do you go to trithik at all? I can't find it anywhere

Post 3 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 17-Feb-2007 19:47:06

you go to the heart hills, southwest thinggy, and western tysa. it's there. it took me forever to find it too. lol. the travel thing confused me at first.

Post 4 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Tuesday, 20-Feb-2007 9:10:22

I've been playign sryth for almost four years and love it. I thinkt he game is excelent and has grown in leaps and bounds. I highly reccomend paying the 10 dollars or what ever it is for the upgrade. Matthew works really hard keeping the content fresh and new. I think the fun thing is that you can go back and replay it with another character. It's fun to be able to use magic with my alternate. magic rocks mah socks.

Post 5 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Tuesday, 20-Feb-2007 16:05:37

yeah, I recently subscribed. I love it. thing is, I can't get my meelee high enough to do anything in the prooving grounds. I try to do all the adventures I can without dying twenty million times.
Any suggestions?

Post 6 by Daenerys Targaryen (Enjoying Life) on Tuesday, 20-Feb-2007 21:12:18

I just started playing today. Looks cool.

Post 7 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Wednesday, 21-Feb-2007 3:42:21

I suggest basing your char off one of the premade characters. it seems to give a decent boost.

Post 8 by midnight sun (you can't catch me, i'm the palobread man) on Wednesday, 21-Feb-2007 12:24:46

and where do you find all that gold to buy the decent weapons and armours? the good ones are like from 2400 to 10000 gold...

Post 9 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Wednesday, 21-Feb-2007 15:44:18

lol. maybe the really good players just.. maybe it magicly appears out of the blue?
I use only the pre generated characters, and still the highest my melee's ever been is 43

Post 10 by midnight sun (you can't catch me, i'm the palobread man) on Wednesday, 21-Feb-2007 19:07:57

43? I wish I had that much, the highest I have is 35 and that's because I have a weapon that gives me 3 and used my 20 skill point to weaponry... but I can't use pregenerated things because I'm not surprised. and... I need damn gold! lol

Post 11 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Thursday, 22-Feb-2007 1:49:40

oh. if anyone signs up. please please please. say liamerven refered you? I need tokens in the worst way. *sobs*. I should do a sryth referal get a coupon code for money off an LWorks game or something. lol.

Post 12 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Thursday, 22-Feb-2007 4:38:20

not fair liam! lol. I need them too

Post 13 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Thursday, 22-Feb-2007 4:57:13

I need the more. I've been playing for almost four years.

Post 14 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Thursday, 22-Feb-2007 10:47:24

Noooo I need them! I've been playing for less than all of you.
Put jessmonsilva as your referral, please please please!

Post 15 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Thursday, 22-Feb-2007 15:27:56

well I'm a newby to the game, I'm just getting started, and trying to learn my way around. please beloved zohners of my heart, put roeina as the one whom referred you, and let the warm fuzzy feelings commence!

Post 16 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Thursday, 22-Feb-2007 15:35:06

a question mister vetern sryth, are the only ways you can gtet adv tokens in the prooving grounds or by referrals?
I mean, the random guy gave me the 12 back in hawkler outside the tavern, but...

Post 17 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Friday, 23-Feb-2007 6:39:56

you'll get tokens for being an AG member, then the 12 that the guy gives you, and you'll also earn some when you beat the proving grounds. and Liam will earn some when you say that liamerven refered you. and out of the kindness of my heart, I'll give you an l-works.net.net coupon. Hurray!

:P

Post 20 by poet (The premium poet) on Saturday, 24-Feb-2007 19:13:29

how do you go to havcler?

Post 21 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 24-Feb-2007 21:03:36

when the game starts out, you can either do an adventure and go into hawkler, or go straight on in. If you leave it though, you get back to it by going to the southwest thinggy, and then to the heart hills. *shrugs.

Post 22 by Mystikil queen (The one and only Dark Princess!) on Sunday, 25-Feb-2007 19:23:46

I started playing sryth about six months ago, and I have done abunch of quests, but I haven't figured out how to keep the gold rolling in, so I can buy the eq that will give you more Maylay. lol So if anyone has pointers, let me no! Please?

Post 23 by charisma (Here today, gone tomorrow.) on Sunday, 25-Feb-2007 22:36:59

I first started playing Sryth in August, and just paid the dollars. It's awesome!

It's cool how you can create different caricters with different skills and abilities. Both of my caricters have magical powers, one has the power of fortification and the other the power of destruction. My male caricter is a skilled warior and has woodsmanship and he's a good archer. I need to play his caricter more and develop his skills and gain him more xp.
My female caricter is pretty awesome too. I've played her the most, so she has a lot of xp and she's done qite a few different missions. Last time I played I was trying to find that one monk down in that underground place underneath the monastary. Those damn horn beattles kept killing me! I died at least 4 fricking times trying to defeat those things lol. They are ruthless little bastards!
Take care, and happy srything.

Post 24 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Monday, 26-Feb-2007 5:42:21

lol. I can't find a character with a good melee and a good magical ability. lol. not fair.
and mystical queen, are you a paid member?

Post 25 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Monday, 26-Feb-2007 15:58:33

hallowed is pretty good. mr isn't really as high as I'd like but a destruction of 50 makes up for that.

Post 26 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Friday, 02-Mar-2007 7:30:09

oo, oo! someone signed up to sryth and used me as a referal. I love my new shiny adventurer tokens. Yall are sweet peoples.

Post 28 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Thursday, 08-Mar-2007 11:49:13

I just signed up for the game yesterday, and it seems a little confusing. I was playing for a bit, and then I tried to save what I had done. Well, this morning, I got killed, and it took me back to the very beginning. It said that it was going to take me to the last place where I had saved the game, but it didn't do that. Has anyone else ever have this happen to them? Also, do you guys have any tips or any suggestions on what to do, or really where to begin? Thanks.

Post 29 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Thursday, 08-Mar-2007 18:05:08

at the top of the page, it says +, and then some numbers?
well there are some locations marked safe-- like in cities. you can save and rest there.
The game starts you in Hawkler, do all you can there-- do the stone back tavern challenge and sale what you get from that (not the drink) in northern trythic.

Also in northern trythic, (in western tysa,) there's an adventure at the monistary, but I'd advise having a good melee score before hand.
Just save and rest as often as possible, I've found that as a standard member, having the short bow helps.
Just playing with the game and getting more familliar with it is my advice.

Post 30 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Friday, 09-Mar-2007 10:08:56

Thanks HauntedReverie. I played for a bit last night, and I was able to figure a few things out, but I'm still a little lost on a few others. I was able to finish some of the smaller adventures that you can do, but now I'm trying one of the bigger ones. I took the one that involves the caves, but I'm not really sure on what exactly I'm supposed to do. I've went in there, and fought a few battles, but can someone tell me what the purpose is? Is there something specific I'm supposed to be looking for?

Post 31 by poet (The premium poet) on Friday, 09-Mar-2007 22:10:05

After fighting a few goblins, you'll discover some common weapons. Daggers, short swords, and the like. Take them, and sell them at trithic. You can get some keblik elixir in the caves as well, which is a potion that restores your stamina points to full.

Post 32 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 10-Mar-2007 6:46:27

you're looking for a set of stairs that lead down. I'd try heading north and east from the entrance of the cave.
When you find the stairs, go north and east and... you'll be given something. then head back south where you'll find the battle you seek. It helps to have about a 40 melee score...

Anyway, that's what the caves are for.

Post 33 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Saturday, 10-Mar-2007 8:07:50

you can actually do the ghoblin quest with a mid 30s score. explore the caves. you'll find keptic potions, and a few extra things. pick up the weapons you find, and you can sell them later for extra gold. If you find a chained ghoblin, free him.

Post 34 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Saturday, 10-Mar-2007 14:58:49

Thanks all. I've actually found the stairs, and a few of the other things you're talking about, but when I go down the stairs, I always end up getting killed. LOL. I did find the chained up goblin too, but I didn't know what to do with him. Right now, my melee is 23. How can I get it higher?

Post 35 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 10-Mar-2007 18:40:28

you should have eight adv tokens?
go buy you a weapon and refund it later when you get better, or go buy a better one with gold.
Do some little adventures, and with your experience, train your skills like weaponry and any of the weaponry sub catigories.
now for my question...
A little matter about an orb,
There has to be a way not to get lost, right?
lol. I was playing it a sec ago, went west and north, and still can't figure it out.

Post 36 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Sunday, 11-Mar-2007 7:39:50

never mind about the previous post-- I found a very helpful um... helping site. :P

Post 37 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Monday, 12-Mar-2007 9:42:21

gotta love sryth wiki. heh.

Post 38 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 20-Mar-2007 14:49:28

The shrith Wiki rocks! One of my chars is going through the stone back hill adventure, and its truely a life saver to have the text directions instead of stumbeling around getting attacked at random.
My first char Quickkill didn't have those directions, but he's pure warrior and could handle those undead battles.

Post 39 by SwanSong (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 20-Mar-2007 14:58:40

I have a char, but I cann't seem to get back into the game. not sure if there are just so many games I am into right now and they are more fun for me, or what. I think it is the fact that there is no enter action in Shryth

Post 40 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Tuesday, 20-Mar-2007 15:53:42

I followed the text directions for, A little matter about an orb, but after following the path for so long, it had three possible directions.
North 2, from whence I came, East 2, and west 2. lol, so I got lost, but I'm sure I followed the directions. *shrugs.
How high a melee do you need to do stone back hill?

Post 41 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 20-Mar-2007 21:46:17

My char whose name is MysticStinger has a MR of 45, and SP of 63. He also has the power of restoration, so that does help with healing between fights. But make sure you're fully stocked with blessings of protection from the priests at Talinus. But you probably know that already...

The directions for the adventures are usually on the money, but I'll agree its easy to slip up with one or two of them. Plus if I'm following the directions and I get interupted by a battle it'll throw off my concentration, and I'll forget the last path I chose. Doh!

Post 42 by Mystikil queen (The one and only Dark Princess!) on Wednesday, 21-Mar-2007 8:37:21

Ok, I am still trying to figure some stuff out.
And yes I am a payed member Haunted reverie. I am stuck in Tysa. lol! But I find it fun to play when I go play it. I need more gold! Anyone have oams for the needy? lol jk

Post 43 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Wednesday, 21-Mar-2007 17:13:38

well, the whole game thing is in tysa, but it's just different sections of tysa.
Have you done the drinking challenge in hawkler?
Explored the stables and met Halen?
Joined the silver crest in Trythic?

My chair has a melee of 54 and an sp of 62 with no powers.

Post 44 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Wednesday, 21-Mar-2007 19:23:49

Hi there Mystikil queen, maybe I can help.
Just so we're on the same page here, Tysa as far as I know, is the northern part of shryth. And that's the only part of Shryth that's playable at this time.

So for that matter, we're all stuck in tysa. lol

But if you're stuck in Talinus or Trithik I can help give you step by step directions how to get where you might want to go.

The new travel system can be seriously confusing. So here's a general but lengthy overview of where the major towns are, and in which parts of tysa.

I'm going to base all the directions from the center, and work our way outward. That'd be central Tysa - The middle kingdom, where you find the capital
city, Talinus. The Moonshore crossroads can be found here too.
From this location you can travel to:
Northern Tysa - Saarnscape, and find The city of Port Hallik.
From northern Tysa you can go to 2 other areas, 1 is Northeast Tysa - Griffondom. It has a town with a playable adventure.
At this time, Northwest Tysa - The Stonelands have nothing playable. So that covers the whole of northern Tysa.

Also from Central Tysa, I.E. traveling from talinus. you will fine eastern Tysa - Eastmarch. The only thing of interest there is the beginning of the RuneSkin
adventure. But also from East March is the way to Southeast Tysa, - Realmsgate. This is important because its the way to Graldok where you'll find the
dagger spire adventure. An option to get to the city of Tryndmoor is on the same page. There's an awesome shop on the harbor in Tryndmoor where you can
buy some unmatched weapons and armor... Definitely sell your eq there for great prices.

Also from Talinus / central Tysa, you can travel to Southern Tysa - The Thanelands. Nothing playable there at this time, but there's a link that'll take
you to southwest Tysa - crownheld.
In southwest Tysa Crownheld There are 2 links there for 2 other regions. Fenmarch and The Hart Hills.
The startingpoint for new characters is in Hawklor, which is in the Heart Hils. Also in that same area you'll find links for the villages of Durnsig and
Kolnia.

From The southwest region of the Kingdom of Tysa called crownheld there's a link for Fenmarch. The only town in the Fenmarch area is Stormfield, where
the Mirk adventure can be found.

And lastly from Talinus the middle kingdom you can travel to western Tysa, The Edgelands. *direct quote*
This rugged, but beautiful region of the Kingdom plays host to a myriad of Tysa's most important, and fastest-growing destinations.
Nearby Locations

• The city of Mirgspil...
• The city of Trithik...
Fogbough - The Forest of Mist (not yet playable)...
Lake Ironrain (not yet playable)...

From western Tysa you can travel to the following locations.
• Central Tysa - The Middle Kingdom...
• Northwest Tysa - The Stonelands...
• Southwest Tysa - Crownhald...
Keep in mind the crownheld area I just wrote about above. Remember the Heart Hills and Fendmarch.

As I said earlier, northwest Tysa - The Stonelands currently don't have anything playable. But if you go up to that area you'll notice that you can travel
around to the Northern Tysa - Saarnscape region. Which is the point,
almost all of these regions connect with each other sooner or later. Its just a matter of becoming familiar with the names, and what's at each location.
But over time Tysa will become like you're own home town. lol

I hope this helps

Post 45 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Wednesday, 21-Mar-2007 19:47:51

Sounds like a good starting char HauntedReverie. My non-magical char has an MR of 78, and stamina of 89.
He's just completed the first provinggrounds with a 100% rating. raa!

Its great being able to play one char that rocks when my other one is so weak. :D

I wish the GM would pick up the story line of the silver crest again, I thought that was cool. Got tired of carrying around that feather and tabard and finally dropped it off at my house. lol

Post 46 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Wednesday, 21-Mar-2007 20:15:37

lol not to ask for game cheats, but I was gonna attempt stone back hill with my 54 mr char, and I was wondering like, how difficult the climax of the advanture is? what do you reccon are my chances? (lol, because you have a 78, so I assume you've done it.)

Post 47 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Wednesday, 21-Mar-2007 20:32:21

Oh HauntedReverie go for it, you have absolutely nothing to lose! My poor MysticStinger is in there now with an MR of 45, and SP of 63.

Seriously, it'll be tough, but you should do ok. And make sure you're packing some blessings of protection.
If you feel you can't complete the stone back hill adventure, just click the link and abandon it. No harm done.

Question, what weapon are you using? And did you do the 7 knight statue quest yet? I ask because I think the best weapon to use is the blade of the fox.
That is, unless you have the hacking weaponry sub skill. If you do, definitely use the black magical axe they give you.

And hey, this is no doubt the place to ask for game cheats. *grin*

Post 48 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 5:31:24

nah, the statues always give me a combat rating of,
"This enemy is a deadly combatent"
except for the first 2. I'm using the hail blade-- from briniver and the ternament of arms.

Post 49 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 10:03:04

Wow! you already won the tournament of arms? What was your MR when you attempted that.
If you have the hale blade, by all means, use that. Its a hell of a lot better than the blade of the fox anyway. Though when you get stronger you should go back and do the 7 knight quest, it gives magical items you can sell for a ton of gold. In fact, I still wear the cape I got from the grifin.

Definitely shop around for the best prices though, imho, Griphooks in tryndmoor is the best place for selling anything.

Post 50 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 10:05:13

hmmm, I can't remember. I know I did the arms once with a mr of like 47, but this time it was either 49 or 50, but I'm thinking 49.

Post 51 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 10:10:58

Its gonna be a while before MysticStinger can try out for the tourny then. lol too bad though

I'm really hammering away at the stone back hill adventure because you get a second power from the leather tome you get at the end. I'd like to have more than just restoration.

Post 52 by Rune Knight (Ancient Demon - Darkness will always conquer Light!) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 11:29:34

What's the address for this game I may sign up.

Post 53 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 13:07:16

Here's the URL:
http://www.sryth.com/

Its a great game, but nothing like RuneScape. Definitely try it out for yourself, and if you like it, its like $10 or whatever, and a ton of content and other adventures and quests open up. But its still playable for free.

Post 54 by Rune Knight (Ancient Demon - Darkness will always conquer Light!) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 14:41:33

I've signed up, so what should a noob like me do? I checked out some of the shops in Hawkler, they've got some pretty interesting stuff. Although I haven't bought anything.

I want a decnet training area to fight monsters any nearby?

Post 55 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 15:01:48

what's your mr and stamana score chris? just play around a bit.
and lol. I feel that guy who's name's at the bottom of the sryth page should give me character points, as I'm the one who started this topic which got him a few new members. :P.
Nah, jk, but it certainly would make my day.
I'm doing stone back, and tried to follow the "winding path" but it got me lost. *wanders around lost.

Post 56 by Rune Knight (Ancient Demon - Darkness will always conquer Light!) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 16:08:19

My Melee is 27 and my Stamina is 35. I kept re-rolling and choose the highest one I found. I was going to but didn't know your screen name was. Seriously I did think about it. However i didn't put anyone so fair game.

I'm lost as of now, but hopefully I wonder back where I need to go. I was going to Westfold and found myself elsewhere.

Post 57 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 16:15:14

I have a melee of 87 and a stamina of 105. isn't that scary?

Post 58 by Rune Knight (Ancient Demon - Darkness will always conquer Light!) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 16:17:40

Damn, that's quite a bit. I bet hardly naything gives you any trouble with that much.

Post 59 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 16:43:19

ok, now I promise, I have a valid question.
Alright, in sryth wiki, it told me to follow the winding path, which I was doing, I hope. it lead me to the room with the arch and the narrow hall with the stone door and the skelliton hands. well, what are you supposed to do? I got away once, went back to reinvestigate, and got killed. So, is that where I need to be? do I have to have necramency?
Nice score Liam. :P

Post 60 by Wraith (Prince of Chaos) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 20:24:38

You guys do realize that completion of the Murk quest grants you more powers? Also, the Hale blade randomly heals, making it a very nice weapon to have.

Post 61 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Thursday, 22-Mar-2007 20:45:14

Yep Wraith, that's why if your char has magical abilities its nice to complete that quest.

Hey Cala, all isn't lost if you don't have the power of necramency. Did you get a wooden mask from that stone chest after killing the undead sorcerer?
If you wear that while going through that area with the skeletal hands and what not, you should be disguised as one of the undead yourself. At least that's what I think the deal is... lol

Post 62 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Friday, 23-Mar-2007 5:42:51

about four hours after I made the post, I got the mask and wand and am now about to go kill the varenthull thinggy, with 3 blessings of protection.
*crosses fingers. I hate it, it paralyzes me sometimes.

Post 63 by Rune Knight (Ancient Demon - Darkness will always conquer Light!) on Friday, 23-Mar-2007 11:24:45

Good Luck killing the monster, put it in it's place. lol

Post 64 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Friday, 23-Mar-2007 11:37:31

Yeah definitely , kill it for me too. I just had to withdraw my char from the stone back hill quest. His MR is about 10 points too low. Even at 45 he's getting his head handed to him. lol

So its off to random encounters and exploring the realms at random to gain enough xp to raise his melee rating.

Post 65 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Friday, 23-Mar-2007 16:48:00

I smoted stoneback, and am looking for another adventure.
I keep dying in the orb one, the old cathedral in mergsville doesn't have text directions, *glares, and I'm not sure how difficult the merk is.
lol, and my mr only went up to 55, although if I'd trained my sub skill rather than weaponry itself... oh well.

Post 66 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 10:08:51

The old cathedral quest may not have text directions from the Shryth wiki, but its basic enough not to need any. Its afairly small area, and no where near as easy to get lost like it is in stoneback.
I'd say definitely your next adventure should probably be the cathedral or something small like that. I hate taking on one huge quest after another. But everyone is different...

And speaking of getting lost, Its super easy to get lost in the murk. There isn't even a map, and unless you have an excellent sense of direction, you'll quickly find yourself asking, "where the hell am I!" lol

So I'm waiting for the GM to code a map into the Murk area before I attempt it again.

Post 67 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 10:48:53

I've completed the murk
sryth wiki has directions for the massive guardian and temple, and I just wandered around to find the other guards.
North west direction, the stone guardian is but I found one there, and also just going north, but maybe that's random?
Do you know about the staff and the trees and all that stuff?
As for the cathedral, I tried it and got confused. are the faces and their expressions supposed to mean something?
lol. and which direction do I go, because there's like, four.

Post 68 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 13:56:38

Ahh, this is great. Glad you completed the Murk, congrats!
I have killed almost all of the stone gardians, but have no idea where the trees are, or what to do once there. But I have 5 of the bronze shards or whatever.

The faces on the walls in the cathedral are just landmarks, so you know you're traveling along the northern wall or whichever...
But on the first level of the cathedral I mainly walked on the outer perimitor. Because there are key monsters you have to kill to open the door to the next and final level.
The monsters are located in a nitch in each corner of the room. But you'll have to step inside the maze to find them. Like if you're at the northwest corner of the room, you would go east until you find a passage going south.
Then follow it till it turns west. and in that area you'll find 2 different rooms but in an L shape.
For example, you'll walk west, then go south and then east again to actually find the monster's lair. And that's just an example, not exact directions. and in each corner of the room its reversed. But you'll see what I mean when you do it.
After killing the key monsters to open the door, find the door by walking around the parimitor. I think the door is in the southeast corner.
Then go down and all the way east to deal with the people who are responcible for all the trouble with that old cathedral. *grin*

Sorry for my long posts, I like to be thorough , but I'm sure some would say exhaustive. lol

Anyway, hth.

Post 69 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 16:56:47

you can only go to the trees after having all 7 shards.
like I said, just wander around.
the trees are east of the witch lady's hut-- when there's more than two options, go east.
spoiler for the trees to save time...
**

and just to save time, it's Ash, oak, maple. (I think)
I finished the cathedral thing, found the directions on google somewheres.

Well, many of you have been playing the game way longer than I have, but today, I finished the caves in Westwold! I created a new character, because with my last one, it didn't seem as if I was really going to get anywhere. So, now, it's off to a new adventure!

Post 71 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 18:32:52

Glad to see you've found your way to this topic Gemini. *smile*

Dang, I feel like I wrote all those directions for nothing now rofl Google is king fo sho. heh

Post 72 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 18:46:35

Oh don't worry. I'm still using your suggestions. Thanks again.

Post 73 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 19:40:49

*nod* Gemini, I ment that for our haunted poster. lol
A belated congrats to Cala!

Post 74 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 20:12:02

right-o, so I did the haunting in durnsig and got the helment, dunno whether to be happy or not. *shrugs. I didn't know how good it was, so I just took it and went on.
I have a bracelet of emeralds. Is there anywhere super wow upscale I can sale it?
I have some weapons, the shop in trendmour gives me a better price then briniver, but it's still 4000 below the worth of my item.
*claps. I feel so advanced!
have you done the abandoned watch tower in talenus?
what about mezeral's celler in trythic?
with an mr of 66 and a stamina of 76, I'm attempting the orb thing in hawkler.
loving google.

Post 75 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 23:13:47

That's great! You're definitely geting up there. lol
Btw, I saw you in Trithik. nice numbers!
But I assume you saved your game after doing the haunting in Dernsig? If so, that's too bad.
By doing the quest over a time or 2, I managed to get the item I wanted to. Its called the Exalted Diamond Longsword.

67 mr, 77 sp or something...

Post 77 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 24-Mar-2007 23:43:40

couple more things,
I have the character trog, because has the highest mr. lol. good idea or no?
I was gonna restart him, but I've already gotten through most of part 5 on the prooving grounds.
Reccon it's worth it for the diamond sword?

Post 79 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Sunday, 25-Mar-2007 10:16:21

I wish I was as far as you guys. LOL

I have a question. I've been trying to find another adventure to start, since I've finished the cave in Westwold. I did the small barn infestation thing, and then I tried the one where you have to fight the seven knights. However, my melee isn't high enough for me to fight all the knights. I'm only able to do a few, and then, they start beating me. Right now, I don't have enough XP to train my skills/power, so I'm wondering if you guys can tell me where I can find something that I can do to gain the XP.

BTW, MikeFont, I know that you were talking to HauntedReverie in that other post. I was just sayign that you didnt' write the directions and everything for no reason, because I'll definitely use them, if and when I ever get that far. lol

Post 80 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Sunday, 25-Mar-2007 14:39:00

Ahh, good point Gemini, that's cool.

I'm not sure Cala, restarting a char is a tough decision. But missing a weapon that would raise your melee by 10 points is in my opinion a good enough reason to restart. Ten points higher than your current weapon that is, the Hale blade.

Gemini see if you can do the Gralgarak's tomb adventure. But if you do, just take the right-hand passage when you enter the tomb. It'll save you a skill or power check. Not sure if your char has a power or not, but either way. Its not a cool way to start the quest. lol
I had to play that adventure twice over before I beat the goast of Gralgarak and his unded defenders, but man its worth it. Good xp and gold and awesome eq in there that'll boost up your stamina.

Post 81 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Sunday, 25-Mar-2007 17:56:22

Well, I tried, but I can't play that one. Every time I try, I get killed, no matter which passageway I take. It's pointless to even try to fight those guys! LOL Is there somewhere else I can go?

Post 82 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Sunday, 25-Mar-2007 18:18:04

try the old cathedral in murgsville?
you just start, and go in one direction until you get to ythe edge, (about 4 either way?)
You're at the perimeter. if you want more directions, *waves my character around. I have them.
Mike, I did the durnsig over with a new character, same character, different name. I got the saphier sword and thought screw it, I hate this adventure, I'm satisfied. lol.

Post 83 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Sunday, 25-Mar-2007 18:24:49

Thanks HR. I'll try it.

Post 84 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Sunday, 25-Mar-2007 21:06:52

rofl that's cool Cala, I understand being sick to death of a quest when you've done it 5 times over.

Guys there's a cool little adventure inPort Hallik, but its not in the adventures for this areathing. Btw Port Hallik is in north Tysa.

If you go to the eye of the sea, you'll meet someone there who asks you to do a small job for him. Don't worry if you don't have seamanship.

But anyway, after you do that small task, go back to the eye of the sea a few times and kneel and pray before it. Doing that like 5 to 10 times will get you a neat little gift.

You kneel in silent prayer before the Eye of The Sea, and almost at once you feel a strange calming sensation wash over you. Your mind is flooded with images
of a raging ocean, and a proud ship sailing a dangerous course through the turbulent waters.

SKILL
You have acquired the skill of SEAMANSHIP.
Your current level of mastery is 1 (Novice).

My char Quickkill didn't have this skill, so I thought I'd share that little tip with y'all.

Post 85 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 5:07:45

neat, but is seamonship really all that great?
oo, and you know on gull street, the thing with Greenfin? What's supposed to happen with that, other than you meet him for the first time?

Post 86 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 5:09:34

something else that just crossed my mind,
would praying in the silver rain cathedral maybe earn you something?
*goes to check.

Post 87 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 6:11:56

I found seamenship comes in handy when you least expect it, and usually in the proving grounds. But since I don't have a magical char, I wanted him to have every cool skill out there. Oh, and don't waste xp on horsemenship, its almost never used.
But never the less, I have them both at 30 skillful. lol
Also I just got my weaponry skill to 70 - master level. Raa! *chuckle*

Post 88 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 6:15:18

Oh right, so did you do that job for captain Greenfen or whatever his name is? lol
After that, the story line kindda dies there.

Post 89 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 6:25:04

gemini don't worry I can't seem to beat the Gralgarak's tomb one either. I've done the caves and the 7 statues and have done a bunch of like little adventures but i can't seem to complete Gralgarak's tomb. good luck.

Post 90 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 11:49:47

Thanks Jess, but it appears I've reached a kind of dead end. I'm not an AG member, and everything I find, you have to be a member in order to do.

Post 91 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 15:38:55

can you do the tomb without being a member?
and lol to the horse skill. yeah, kinda pointless.

Post 92 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 15:39:57

Yes you can.

Post 93 by poet (The premium poet) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 18:02:21

what maylay rating do you need to do the tomb thing? MIne's 31. Sucks, I know, but... There it is.

Post 94 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Monday, 26-Mar-2007 19:16:08

you need a melee in the mid to upper fifties I think. At least, that's what I had.
try rolling your stats a bunch, to get a high melee. If you started out with 31, then you're good, but if you've been playing for a while, and are just now there, I'd suggest a redo.
just a thought.

I have now gots my ass back on track! Thank you Myster Font, for giving me such good explissid directions. :)
I am off to atimpt the merk adventure. But I probably will die minny times over. hahaha
Keep the tricks rolen in please!

Post 96 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Tuesday, 27-Mar-2007 10:47:31

You can do the tomb without being an AG member, but I'm not able to get anywhere in there. My melee is only 37, and like I said before, I can't seem to find anything to do, so that I can gain some XP to bring my melee up.

Post 97 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Tuesday, 27-Mar-2007 11:58:32

have you tried the cathedral? it's actually pretty easy and you get this sweet dagger.

Post 98 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Tuesday, 27-Mar-2007 12:28:48

Hmmm, no, I don't think I've tried, but I'm not sure. LOL. I've tried so many, so...

Where is it?

Post 99 by Musical Ambition (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Tuesday, 27-Mar-2007 12:36:15

Actually, now that I think of it, I did do something in one of the cathedrals, but I'm not sure if that's the one you're talking about. I don't remember where it was, but it was where these guys had one of the priests held hostage, and I saved him. I don't remember getting anything for it, though, except for a few xp points.

Post 100 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Tuesday, 27-Mar-2007 17:25:30

oh, the cathedral is only for ag members jes, it's in murgsville-- an adventure.
did you do the ship thing in port halic?
join silver crest? I dunno, I can't think..

Post 101 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 27-Mar-2007 22:53:02

I've created a non AG player, and he's going through the caves of westwold now. His MR sucks, but I wanted destruction as a power.
MR 27, SP 37 Yikes! lol
Gonna try to get my MR to 30 before getting a weaponry sub-skill like slashing. At this point I want all my xp going to general and weaponry. I must say though, not being an AG members sucks. I want to try all the other little adventures that would help, but they're just not there.
Not for nothing, but I'd definitely pay the 15 bucks. SO FOR NOW WITH THIS CHAR Gemini I feel your pain. *grin*

Post 102 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Tuesday, 27-Mar-2007 22:55:09

If you're doing the murk Mystical Queen, definitely refrer to the Shryth Wiki for a map that gives some text directions. Its a start in the right direction if nothing else.

Post 103 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Wednesday, 28-Mar-2007 5:10:21

right, so I was going to restart my second character in order to go after the diamond sword in the durnsig thing.
Do you know the mr of each of the swords?
and also, if I don't get the diamond, I know I can redo it like,
you don't save in the adventure, but I've heard you can log out and back in. the item you get changes every hour.
How exactly does that work?

Post 104 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Wednesday, 28-Mar-2007 18:50:43

I guess what I'm asking is, since the swords are unidentified, once you've identified them, can you go back for another try? do you have to kill yourself and go totally redo the adventure?

Post 105 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Friday, 30-Mar-2007 2:35:07

Yeah if you don't have arkonna or whatever, you have to travel somewhere like Hawklor to get the sword identified. 'Then if you don't get the diamond longsword, just quit and restart your game at the last saved place which was outside the pumpkin patch.

Post 106 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Friday, 30-Mar-2007 4:31:17

What an annoying adventure.

Post 107 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Sunday, 01-Apr-2007 13:04:16

right, how does one go about buying runes of life? Do you have to wait until you're out?
I've looked and looked, and can't seem to find a place.

Post 108 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Monday, 02-Apr-2007 6:29:31

Cala, there is a link that tells you how many roons of life you have.
You just click on that link and it will let you buy one.

Post 109 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Monday, 02-Apr-2007 15:55:05

it hasn't let me buy one. but I'll check it out again.

Post 110 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Monday, 02-Apr-2007 16:06:42

Heh, its an annoying adventure, but it provides one of the best MR weapons I've seen to date. And I've been playing Shryth for years now.

Post 111 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Monday, 02-Apr-2007 21:05:34

Cala, it's a couple of frames down..

Post 112 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 07-Apr-2007 9:11:18

For anyone who uses sryth wiki frequently...
certain things in the quest guide, it says, "listed in events."
What does this mean? Is there more info about the listed item on the site? If so, I've never found anything that says, "events" on the wiki site...

Post 113 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Saturday, 07-Apr-2007 20:20:37

I think this means the on going events section of your adventure log. Like if you bought the map to find the dragon west of Talinus, that'll be in your on going events section.
One of the first things I loved about being an AG member is having that handy log to refrer back to for names and places I need to look up at a later date.

Still wish I can get my stamina higher though, its at 88, and in some encounters, its just not enough. most of my armor is unmatched plate armor or equipment of a magical nature that I don't want to part with.

Post 114 by crimson x (This site is so "educational") on Saturday, 07-Apr-2007 23:40:44

what's the difference between kingdom of loatheing and this game.

Post 115 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Sunday, 08-Apr-2007 7:07:00

this is better, lol.
well, I've played KOL, and found it confusing and hard to navigate. Sryth uses lists and buttons and very few links off by themselves-- just hit l to move through the lists or whatever.
Sryth is more detailed and easier to understand. it's got a better lay out, and no google ads.
so basicly, it's broader, easier to understand, better navigation, more detailed.
I'm not too too familliar with KOL, so that's about all I can say.

Post 116 by jessmonsilva (Taking over the boards, one topic at a time.) on Monday, 09-Apr-2007 11:36:00

Yeah I dont' like kol that much either. Yay go sryth!

Post 117 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Wednesday, 11-Apr-2007 9:22:38

question.
on the wiki, I know it says the exalted stuff isn't available in the phantom assassen event anymore, that true?
I just did the assassen, killed him and his crew and it told me that I can find stuff in the exploration of the realms. The other stuff in the wiki's item list for the assassen, the fire ax and whatnat, is stuff like that available to find in the assassen event?
Will it let me know I've found an item, or will I have to kill something, and then it will tell me?

Post 118 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 14-Apr-2007 8:17:30

two more questions I thought I'd throw out,
the giants part II, stonesong. I know about the golems and in which order to kill them, and you're supposed to get gems from them? I've never seen a gem giving thinggy. I read that you have to kill all the creatures in the tomb first. And then what? go to the corners and seef a golem is there to kill you?

next, and just curious.
Are "explore the realms at random" and "have a random encounter" the same thing?
They look the same, but in the instructions, it always says go to "explore the realms at random.."

Post 120 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Monday, 16-Apr-2007 10:58:49

Hi there,

The "explore the realms at random" option and the have a random encounter links are two different things.
When you have just a random encounter, you're exploring the town and its surroundings that you're located in. There are certain bennifits and perils in doing this though. Sometimes having a random encounter is how you can start some small adventures and quests.

Exploring the realms at random is where you found the phantom assassin, and where you find cool places to explore like the various crypts and haunted towers. both are good for xp and equipment you can sel for gold.

I think you're confusing the giants part 2 with the Runeskin events. You get a gem from each of the 4 Runeskin events, prior to the one that started in Tryndmore.
Then again, since I haven't tackled any of the Giant adventures but the first one, I'm not possitive.

Post 121 by poet (The premium poet) on Monday, 16-Apr-2007 16:17:35

Question for anyone. How do you seek out Lothren in Tallenis

Post 122 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Monday, 16-Apr-2007 16:27:44

um, right, you have to go back to penekarn lane and follow the dude down the alley, or something.

as for the gem thing, yeah, you do get gems in the giants part two, but as a side note, what do the black runeskin gems do?
And with my new character, am I better off killing the gobblin for giants part one, or killing the creatures in the orchard?

Post 124 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Saturday, 28-Apr-2007 9:50:16

good luck with stoneback. I hate it. I assume you have the wand and the skull and the key?

Three questions for anyone...
1, is there somewhere I can get directions for A terror in Greenmarsh? I looked, and couldn't find any. any hints?

2, The silver dragon quest, I gave the statue to the seer, but he gave it back to me. Is there some significance to it or do I just sell it?

3, I read the book at my place in trend keep. is there an "explore the realms at random" feature that goes with that? or was it just there to make me ask questions?

Post 125 by poet (The premium poet) on Friday, 04-May-2007 16:26:57

Post 126 by MikeFont (Generic Zoner) on Sunday, 06-May-2007 16:12:09

Hey Poet,

When things like that happen, definitely write the game master for Sryth. He gets back to you pretty quick, either that or, he'll have the problem fixed.

The leather tome from the Stoneback hill adventure I assume will be developed in future updates. There's nothing you can do with it as of now.

Post 127 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Sunday, 06-May-2007 16:48:27

If you're talking to me Mike, I didn't mean the tome, I meant the book you have to use Lore for in your house the thane gives you. It gave me a few lines about something or other story or whatever, and went away.

not to brag, lol, but I've done all four prooving grounds, only coming third on one, first on two, and second on the last. I've done all three giant adventures, and most of the other little adventures in the game. lol, so if one requires direction...

Post 132 by poet (The premium poet) on Wednesday, 23-May-2007 13:17:02

Cala, how do you do the stonesong adventure?

Post 133 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Wednesday, 23-May-2007 14:49:53

with a high MR and a prayer.
so you've done the first giant adventure, and you fight the guy who comes to fetch you at the start of the adventure, you lose, and become friends and he takes you to the tomb. now, if you walk around for a bit, on four corners near the beginning you'll see, forest, sea, fire, earth.
Forest is top left, sea is bottom right, fire is bottom left, and earth is top right. I think.
You go to first forest, sea, fire, earth and kill the gollums at the end of the passage. it'll say like, one east, one south, just go around and look. so if it says "passage continues two east and one south," *shrugs. you'll figure it out.

from the four gollums, you get a stone. you then take that stone to bottom left where you found the big slab "only a mountain giant could move." and use the emerald, amber, ruby, and saffier. hince, "Employ thy ears and realize the ring." And do it in that order.
You get a ring. You take that ring, go save your game and rest, then use it on the "rough circles" in the floor, I did mine north, east, south, west.
Then you go to top left, and take stonesong from the dead guy.
You'll get evil things you'll have to fight, every space you move after that, just as a warning.
So if I haven't confused you with this description, good luck.
And for God's sake, do the gollums forest, sea, fire earth.
or else you'll be sorry.

um...
you know the gralgerok quest, the one with the granite keys and jodd in Hawkler? Well, for some reason, I ended up with two granite keys. I was going to just sale them, but I thought I'd ask and see if they meant anything first?
Maybe someone could e-mail the gamemaster about it? I would do it, but I don't have outlook setup, and it won't let me e-mail otherwise.
thanks...

Hey, all. I was just wondering if anyone knows how to do the runeskin final sceenario. Are you supposed to step through the archway into prince iaker's maze? Also, in the mirk quest, do you have to get the staff the beat the serpent, or can you use a particular power, such as destruction? Thanks.

warning!!!! Major spoiler ahead!

I stopped playing for a while, but I'm back, and loving all the new stuff! for the poster who asked about runeskin, if you're refering to the shadow path in the tavern or inn or where ever it is, then yes, you step through it. But once your inside, listen to the first spirit you see and find that other spirit who'll give you the final piece of the demonscurge. I would recommend not fighting the statues in the corners of the maze until you have it equipt. Also, I"m dumb, because it took me a while to figure this out, and even then, I didn't, I had to look on the forums, but only step through the arch of fire the coralates with the amount of sides of the shape you chose in the previous senario.
Ok, as for the murk, it's really really hard to beat that creature without the staff. If you need help with maps, and the murk is one of them, you can go to the wiki page.
Hope this helps.

Now I have a couple of questions of my own.
First, is it at all possible to beat, sorry for the bad spelling, rocnacara in a braggerts tale? Also, does anyone know what I should do with the goblen statuette, and war drum?
Thanks.
Jen

oh yeah, I'm almost finished with the pg 5, for the poster who asked. Did you have a question about it?

Post 141 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Sunday, 25-Nov-2007 11:22:01

as far as I know, the goblin statue and war drum are useless.
yes, I beat that, R guy from the braggarts tale. my char had mr of 106, one of those mr+22 swords, the silver one I think, three blessings, and a hell of a lot of luck.

about pg 5, in the spider maze thing, I found the three eyes which burst into flames in my hand, but I can't figure out that hand dial. I've done every combo of two turns west to east, east to west that I can think of. I am very confused.
heeeeeeelp?

Post 142 by mysticrain (Art is born of the observation and investigation of nature.) on Sunday, 25-Nov-2007 12:45:31

ah ok, I'm only at 95 mr, and I do have the shimmering long sword. So I'll just keep grinding until I can get my xp high enough. grin,
And I'm almost to that point, I just beat the 3 flaming swordsmen in the hall, and fallen through the trap door. But I read on the forums that, I think it was, you turn each dial the opposite way you came in. So I think if you came east you turn it west. But I haven't had the chance to test that yet. I'll post back when I do. But hey, if that works, let me know. smile
Thanks for the info about the items and the braggert.
Jen

two turns that way then? hmm. *ponders
and please tell me, what the hell is griding? I've been away from sryth for a long time.

Post 144 by HauntedReverie (doing the bad mango) on Sunday, 25-Nov-2007 13:38:09

can you tell me where you saw the info? a link if you can remember...

Post 145 by mysticrain (Art is born of the observation and investigation of nature.) on Sunday, 25-Nov-2007 14:00:20

I meant if you came from the west then tern it to the west and vice versa, and on the sryth main page, there's a link to the forums. You have to, after you click on the forums link, click on the link that says you agree, and it opens in a new browser window. here's the url for the forum
http://shadowwolf47.proboards12.com/index.cgi
and heres the url for the wiki
http://sryth.pbwiki.com/
I hope this helps.
On the forum, there's a specific board for sryth help.
Happy reading. smile

I know about the forum and wiki. I'll try that now, turning it west. I just was hoping for a specific post. tat forum's huge.
thanks for your help. and I assume btw, the hand's on north, so you turn it counter clockwise? aka west, if you come from the west?
*ponders.

Is a basic membership free?

Post 150 by skpoet711 (Zone BBS is my Life) on Friday, 25-Jul-2008 18:26:11

So I started sryth like 2 weeks ago.
I'm slow, yes :P
Anyhow, I have no clue how to identify an "unidentified" items.
I pick up "unidentified" rings and such. and after I kill a evil bird, I get some sort of unidentified item. So, how does one go about identifying something thats unidentified?
Also, I get pearls, and stuff, do they really have any value? I click on the "view this item" button, but the descs really don't say much.
hmm, also, if during travel, we could fight monsters what not, that would permit us to lvl up more(gain more xp). All this adventuring does have its limits. Can repeat adventures unless you quit it, then if you do, you lose xp gained... shrug
I'm like stuck, for most of the adventures are guild, and my paypal doesn't work atm to pay. shrug
Anyhow, this game is cool, I just wish there was like a real movement to the traveling.
e.g
to get to city, you'd travel north, then east, then east, through hills, then south, all the while, you're clicking links of the dirs. During your travel, it would rock if you can face monsters with varying difficulty the closer you get to the badlands, the harder they get. Lets see, I think the closest I played thats web based like that was shilla.org.
